Terms of Service
Effective date: September 19, 2026
[Jurisdiction], and must be filled in with the actual country/state before this document is relied on legally.1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Gurr (“Gurr,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to and use of the Gurr mobile application, related websites, and services (together, the “Service”). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of the Service
Gurr is a social driving app that lets you log trips, connect with friends, compare stats on leaderboards, share your live location during a drive, find friends via your phone contacts, and sign in with Apple or email. Features may change, be added, or be removed at any time.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age of digital consent in your country if that age is higher, to create a Gurr account. Gurr is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to use the Service under any circumstances, or anyone under 16 to use it without the consent required in their jurisdiction. If we learn that we have collected information from a child in violation of this section, we will delete the account and associated data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
4. Your Account
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide (including your name, email, and, if you add one, your phone number and vehicle details) and for keeping your login credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us right away at xdniklaus@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized use.
A phone number you add to your profile is stored so friends can find you, but Gurr does not send an SMS verification code to confirm you own that number. Do not add a phone number that is not yours.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to harass, stalk, or endanger another person, including misusing live location sharing;
- Upload contacts, phone numbers, or vehicle details belonging to someone else without their permission;
- Attempt to access another user’s account or interfere with the Service’s normal operation;
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or resell any part of the Service without our written consent;
- Use the Service while driving in a way that violates local distracted-driving laws — you are solely responsible for driving safely and legally.
6. Location & Trip Data
Recording a trip uses your device’s precise location. If you turn on live location sharing, friends you choose can see your real-time position for the duration you set. You control when location access is granted and can stop sharing at any time from the app or your device settings. Driving directions and maps are provided using Mapbox. See Section 6 of our Privacy Policy for how this data is handled.
7. Contacts & Friend Matching
Friend matching from your contacts is optional and only runs if you turn it on. When enabled, your device hashes your contacts’ phone numbers before they leave your device and only the hashes are used to check for matches against other Gurr users — see our Privacy Policy for details. By enabling this feature you confirm you have the right to share your contacts’ information with us for this purpose.
8. Content You Submit
You retain ownership of the trip data, photos, vehicle info, and other content you submit (“Your Content”). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service, including showing it to friends you choose to share it with. You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the rights necessary to submit it.
9. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on third parties to operate, including Apple (sign-in), Mapbox (maps and routing), Resend (transactional email), and Sentry (crash and error reporting). Your use of features built on these services is also subject to those providers’ own terms and privacy practices.
10. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from the app’s account settings, or by emailing xdniklaus@gmail.com. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your account poses a risk to the Service or other users.
11. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY OF MAPS, ROUTES, OR LOCATION DATA, AND THE SERVICE IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR SAFE, ATTENTIVE DRIVING.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GURR WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ANY INCIDENT THAT OCCURS WHILE DRIVING.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Gurr harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in [Jurisdiction]. Placeholder — owner to confirm the correct jurisdiction before publishing to app stores.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
